EXCITING UPDATES: Who Says Fridays and Saturdays Aren't for Learning?

One-On-One Tutoring

  • Second grader, Joshua, is now coming to The CHIPUKA Center for one-on-one tutoring in order to get up-to-speed (and beyond) in Mathematics and English!
  • In order to prepare for his Malvern exams, Sebastian is working one-on-one with Ms. Nabb and his preparation materials in order to get into his dream school! We know he can do it!
Teacher Training
  • This afternoon, Director, Heather Nabb, had an incredibly positive and exciting meeting with the headmaster and founder of the D.I.N.K.A. School. D.I.N.K.A. School provides a quality education for Tanzanian orphans and low-income students, and we couldn't be happier about what they are doing! Three of their teachers will be coming to The CHIPUKA Center starting in January in order to participate in professional development workshops such as 'Effective Feedback in the Classroom and Work Environment', 'The Importance of Using Rubrics for Self-Assessment', 'Place-Based Education', and 'Motivating the Reluctant Student'. We are thrilled to have created a partnership with such an important local initiative, and if you want to learn more about what D.I.N.K.A. is doing, please visit their website here: http://www.dinkakids.com
